DHS Urges Gulf Coast Region to Prepare for Gustav

  • Following the election of President Vojislav Kostunica, the first Yugoslavia reconstruction and development conference, held in November of 2000.
  • In the wake of deadly floods in Venezuela, the first Venezuelan reconstruction conference in March of 2000.
  • Responding to the devastating earthquakes in Turkey, a major Turkish reconstruction conference in January of 2000.
  • The first post-war reconstruction conference on Kosovo and the surrounding countries in June of 1999.
  • In the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch, the first reconstruction conference on Central America in December of 1998.
  • The first post-war reconstruction conference on Bosnia and Herzegovina, held in January of 1996.
